Here we go...

The girls left this morning for their grandparents and we are now off to Memphis for the start of our trip to Africa!!! We will have an overnight layover in Dubai and arrive in Addis Ababa on Monday morning at 11:30 (2:30 a.m. Monday morning here in Arkansas). We expect to meet Julianne Fanos pretty soon after landing :o) Please pray for her adjustment and safe travels.

Happy First Birthday Julianne!!

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father thru Jesus the Son,
and give Him the glory, great things He hath done!

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
and great our rejoicing thru Jesus the Son;
but purer, and higher, and greater will be
our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

Since Ethiopia is nine hours ahead of us, it is Julianne's birthday (June 16th)!!!

I also wanted to take this opportunity to fill you guys in on our adoption journey over the last three weeks. As most of you know, we had our first court date on May 21st. Our caseworker called us at 11:00 a.m. on the 21st to let us know that there was a delay in our case. Julianne's uncle, who had custody of her when she was placed in the orphanage, had to travel back to his hometown (SEVEN hours away) to correct the problem. Little did we know, this would be one of many trips her uncle would make between his hometown and Addis Ababa over the next few weeks. His faithfulness and love for Fanos (Julianne) is so inspiring and beautiful. We can't wait to tell her about him one day. He has literally spent days traveling back and forth getting documents corrected and attending local and federal court. We are so thankful for everything he has done for our family. We are hoping to meet him while we are in Ethiopia.

We received almost daily updates of our case's progress. Each day we were encouraged it would only be a few more days...until Monday, June 8th. Our agency called us the previous Friday to tell us that the electricity was out in Addis and they didn't know what happened at court that day. On Monday, they called to tell us that because of the circumstances, our case was closed for the time being. We still had a slim hope that we might get good new on Friday and still be able to travel in July, but because of many factors, we didn't really expect that to happen. Two days later, on Wednesday morning, our caseworker called and said that we passed court and were cleared to travel to pick up our daughter in a week and a half!!! It was nothing short of a miracle!!! With God, all things are possible!!!

We are leaving THIS Saturday to meet our youngest daughter, Julianne Fanos!!! We are so thankful to the generous families that traveled before us and took pictures and videos of our baby and we would love to pay it forward. If you have a referral and would like us to take pictures while we are there, email me your child's name and picture to neilandamyarnold@yahoo.com.

We are ecstatic to introduce you to our baby, Julianne:
