Day 16 - Jonah, Flickr, Phone Calls & Outfits...

Thank you all sooooooo much for praying for baby Jonah! These days seem so hard, but I know God has a plan for Jonah's life and I am praying for my heart to accept these plans. I can't go into any details, but I can share with specific prayers requests :o)

Please pray for baby Jonah as he travels fours hours (round trip) next week to visit his birthmother. Please pray that he will be safe and that he will have a nice visit. Please pray that his birthmother loves him enough to make the changes she need to be a good mother or let him go.

Please pray that there is a miracle and he will not be almost starting school before his forever family is determined (that is the current plan). I have been around adoption for awhile now and I know that there aren't as many people open to adopting an older child...much less from foster care. I also believe that the transition will be much easier for him if he is younger. I know there is a perfect family for him whether it be an adoptive family or his birthfamily. I just pray that he will be able to join them as a baby, not as a child who only knows his foster family.

Foster care is NOT easy. Taking care of the kids is fun and rewarding...the unknowns, birthfamilies and the court process make it tough. I plan to call Jonah's attorney next week to discuss his case. His next court date is mid-May.

I just LOVE this little one. He has been "playing" with toys again sweet :o) His baby acne is getting better, but still very present :o)

Someone asked me earlier this week about posting pictures (I think it was Natasha). I use to store my photos. I just love the way you can organize your pictures into sets so you can find what a picture you are looking for easily. It is also super easy to post your pictures to your blog or to edit them (I really only use this function to put graphics on the faces of our foster kids). I pay $24 a year to have unlimited storage and extra organization features. It is also an additional safeguard to protect my pictures from being lost. I store all of my pictures on an external hard drive. If my house was burning down, that is one of the material items I would try my best to save :o)

Yesterday at Hillary Ashton's school they had "Now I lay me down to read." They wore their pajamas to school, took three of their favorite books and a blanket. They were read to ALL day. They also had yummy snacks to eat throughout the day...sounds pretty great to me :o) Hillary Ashton couldn't decide which pjs to wear so she put her "Eenie, menie, miney, moe" saying to work and Tinkerbell won :o) It is so cute that she comes home saying the same little rhymes we learned in school :o)
Unfortunately, we had a little incident yesterday at school. I am not happy about it at all. In fact, hubby and I are trying to decide whether or not to pull her out of school Monday morning...

A BOY asked Hillary Ashton to call him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He even used the fingers up by the ear gesture! Ugg! Luckily, she reported it to me in this way..."Mama, T**** wants US to call him tonight." Haha! She said, "I am not sure what he wants, but maybe you could ask his mom." However, I am a little concerned about her response when I asked her what this little "Romeo" looks like (my eyes will be peeled at pick-up Monday!). She said, "He has brown hair, blue pajamas and he is really handsome." After I picked up my jaw off of the floor, I said, "Handsome...what do you mean?" She said, "You know mama, that means he is a really pretty boy."

I finished Sophie Le & Julianne's outfits from the brown and pink fabric I bought the other day. I am finishing up a skirt for Hillary Ashton tonight.
I am trying to decide whether or not to put their initial on the front of their tops...what do you think?
Sophie Le's letter would be an applique using the polka dot fabric on her top...
Julianne's would be in the flower fabric on the center of her dress...

And just because she is so cute, here is another one of Sophie Le from today :o)

I love, love, love those outfits you made. Maybe one day God will bless us with a girl so I can dress them up in cute stuff like that.

Wow! You are one talented Mama! Those outfits are precious! I love the monogram idea too, except that if you add other girls later then they couldn't rally wear the outfits.

Heather - It is fun to dress up little girls :o) I know God has great plans for your family and I feel honored to follow your journey :o)

Thanks guys! Since they have already worn these outfits, I decided to wait. I will personalize the next outfits...if I can find the time to sew them...haha!
