Day 7 - Melkam Gena & 5,6, 7, 8...

Merry Christmas!

Did you know that today is Christmas in Ethiopia? Melkam Gena (Merry Christmas!)!

Holidays and calendars are much different in Ethiopia. I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but it is the year 2002 in Ethiopia. They are several years behind us...number wise. When we were there picking up Julianne, we saw billboards celebrating the new millenium! I guess they weren't worried about Y2K :o) They got to watch it happen all over the world eight years earlier!

So in the spirit of Christmas, here are a few more Christmas pics...

A few pics of this years gingerbread house...boy, there is quite a story behind this house...I will spare you!
Don't ask...

Here are a few pics I took the day I took down the tree...
Here it is...I get this look a thousand times a day! It is like she is saying, "Are you kidding me, mama?"

This picture is blurry, but this will give you a good idea of what most of the pictures I take of all three look like! It is TOUGH getting all three in a picture!
Really, what is going on here? It is like they are at a rock concert!
Poor Juicy!

The one and a million I get like this make it all worth it! My babies...

How in the world did I get so lucky?

Today was another busy, busy day :o) This morning, Hillary Ashton went to school and the little kids and I went to MDO.

After Daddy got home, Hillary Ashton and I headed out to her very first Cheer class. I signed her up for a late class so I can take her by herself. I try really hard to have activities for each child so they have "only child" time. They all LOVE it. Anyways, cheer class was was FUN, FUN, FUN! After years of gymnastics classes and dance classes, I think Hillary Ashton is finally in her element! She was so into it! After class, she kept telling me how much she wants to be held up high and thrown into the air...I think we will need a few more classes before we get to that level honey! It was seriously the sweetest thing watching her watch the big kids perform their routine! She was star stuck!

When we got home (way past her bedtime), she proudly showed Daddy and Le Le (who stayed up to see us!) what she learned. It was so sweet watching her doing her moves while counting, "5,6,7,8...1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8."

Little Miss is starting dance classes next week...
She is really excited and can't wait. However, I will be SHOCKED if she participates! She has a bit of a stubborn streak and doesn't feel the need to obey commands (or requests) given by anyone other than her mommy and daddy.

I will leave you with one random Hillary Ashton question from today...
"Mama, do peach people eat steak?"

I got a deep thinker folks!
