Day 44 - Love Day, Makin' crayons & holders & Valentine Crafts...

We are having soooo much fun celebrating Valentine's weekend :o) The girls decided that since tomorrow is Valentine's Day, today will be called "Love Day." So sweet! Throughout the day, I would hear them start to argue and the other would say, "Hey, you can't say that...it's LOVE day." Haha! Gotta love their logic...maybe everyday could be love day :o)

We started the day with strawberry, heart pancakes...

They were a hit!

After breakfast, Daddy had to go to work :o( We decided to have an all day craft day :o)

First on the list...new crayons...We started by sorting all of the good crayons from the old, broken crayons...

Then we sorted them by color family...

And peeled off the paper...

Then we broke them into small pieces...

And put them into a muffin pan (if you have a shape (I wish we had a heart for Valentines!) pan that would work great!)

I baked the crayons at 275 degrees for about 15 minutes and then put them into the freezer for about 10 minutes to harden.
Viola! New, fun crayons!

All of the girls liked the crayons, but Julianne LOVED them. She played with the circular crayons (not necessarily coloring the whole time) for at least an hour this morning! So, mama LOVES them too!!

Her sweet smile lights up the room!

Sophie Le liked to line them up :o)

You could totally mix up the colors too! The crayon in the top corner is a mixture of all the colors.

In keeping with the LOVE theme, we had heart & flower pb&j sandwiches...I thought it would be fun for the girls to decorate their sandwiches today :o)

So serious!

The decorator bags even inspired Sophie Le to try jelly today :o) It is one of the ONLY two things she will not eat. The other is ketchup. Hillary Ashton always trys to get her to eat ketchup by saying, "Le, you love tomatoes. Ketchup is just smashed up, sweet tomatoes." :o) Haha! Anyways, she tried it and liked it! Yippee!

We also made Valentine cards for Daddy :o)

I seriously LOVE little kid hands...they are so precious!

This child LOVES to paint!

I thought it would be cute to interview the girls about their daddy...Their answers made me smile!
Here is the back of her card...she said this was a Sophie Le heart because it has a cute haircut like Le :o)

I asked the girls if they wanted to give Daddy his card today or tomorrow. They all agreed tomorrow UNTIL he got home. They couldn't wait :o)

They LOVED showing Daddy the cards they made!

So sweet!! I think she read her card to Daddy at least five times!

Sophie Le said that her and her daddy like to play...football. This is REALLY, REALLY funny. I would seriously doubt if any of my girls could pick a football out of a lineup...haha!

Showing Daddy how good she wrote her name :o)

Last, but not least...Juciy Ju :o)
So stinkin' cute!! Love this girl!

She isn't a big talker, but she gets her point across :o)

As part of the girl's Valentine's present, I made them crayon holders. They have both been joining us in "Big Church" for about a month and I thought this would be an easy way to carry their crayons.

I think they turned out cute!

Here's Hill's...

I put their name and "XOXO" on the front...
