Day 112 - Happy Earth Day! Planting seeds...

To celebrate Earth Day today, the girls & I planted a few of our new seeds :o)

This is probably old news to all of you, but Jiffy makes these really cool, 100% biodegradable tear away seed starter pallets. I found them on my solo Wal-Mart outing the other day. The idea is to plant your seeds in these little individual pots and after they take off, you tear away the pot and plant the pot in your permanent garden. I hope it works!
First we filled the pots with dirt...

The girls kinda LOVED this project!

We only had a few minutes before Cheer class this afternoon, so each girl planted one row of seeds, we plan on planting some more this weekend.

They all watched closely and waited for the plants to grow before their eyes...haha!

The last step is to cover the plants with the provided "dome" and place them in a warm, dry place. I can't wait for some yummy summer veggies and fruits!

The girls look so sweet getting their garden ready. I hope we get an invite for watermelon this summer!
