Day 93 - Egg Hunting, Egg Coloring & Resurrection Eggs...

This morning the kids and I went to our Church's Easter Egg Hunt. I am happy to report I didn't lose anyone :o)

Waiting on the starting horn...

Julianne hasn't been interested AT ALL in the Easter Egg hunts in the past few days, but today she was READY to hunt :o)
DSC07035There were LOTS of eggs (5000) and my girl had a ball running around gathering eggs like crazy...
DSC07041
Sophie Le got a little overwhelmed several times with the large crowd, chaos and large furry rabbit, but over all she did great...
DSC07042
This girl couldn't get enough of the Easter Bunny...she has always loved the Easter Bunny...
DSC07045
She is the only one of my kiddos that would come within 20 feet of the bunny :o) Actually I am sure Jonah would have done fine, but I TOTALLY forgot about getting his picture with the bunny! I am so disappointed I forgot to get his picture!!!
My big girl LOVES this playground because it is old school. It has a merry go round and other toys we used to play on when we were little :o) They don't build playgrounds like they use to! However, I am thankful because I get NERVOUS when my girl plays on the old school toys...haha!

Sophie Le's favorite part was the snacks :o)

After we enjoyed a yummy "Hot and Ready" pizza, the little girls took a nap while Hillary Ashton sorted though her goodies :o)

When Daddy got home, we colored some eggs...

It is no secret that my girls like to color water :o)

My poor baby looks like she has been in a fight :o( Yesterday, she got soooooooooooo excited when Daddy got home. She yelled "Dadddddeeeeeeee" and ran toward him. Her sweet little body couldn't keep up with her excitement and she crashed...

Her sweet, precious face slid across the driveway...

Tonight we did the Resurrection Eggs with the girls before bed...
DSC07117
The eggs are numbered 1 to 12 and inside each egg is a symbol that walks you through the Easter Story...

I gave each of the girls four eggs and they opened them one by one. Hillary Ashton took the lead and told the entire Easter story in GREAT detail. I am so happy has such a thirst for God's word and when she hears it, she really takes it to heart.

Hillary Ashton was soooooooooooo excited to open up the 12th egg...if you haven't seen the resurrection eggs before, the last egg is empty. It symbolizes the empty tomb. It was empty because Jesus ROSE FROM THE DEAD and is ALIVE :o)

This is probably one of the best things we have ever purchased for the girls...

I checked downstairs a few minutes ago and the Easter Bunny has visited our house :o) The girls will be so excited! He left bunny footprints leading the girls to their Easter Baskets :o) I can't wait till morning :o)

Great pictures today, Amy! I love Sophie Le's excited face when coloring the eggs. I think we need to get a set of Resurrection Eggs. I've seen them before but haven't thought about them in a long time. Tell Julianne to give up face surfing, especially on concrete! Poor little thing!

Happy Easter!

Oh, poor Julianne. Love the photos of the egg coloring. What a contract to our OUTDOOR experience. I would never to that with my boys in the house. Fun times.
