Day 150 - We are Building a Well in Africa & Fresh Fruit Popsicles!!!

Happy Memorial Day!

I am soooooo excited to share an AMAZING opportunity with you guys! We have been wanting to build a well in Africa for awhile. We finally decided (today) that we would no longer give into to fears and insecurities that told us that we couldn't possibly raise the money...we KNOW that it is possible! However, we cannot do it alone...we NEED YOUR help! I created a page on this blog that gives you all of the details...

You can also just click the "Friends of Fanose" link you see at the top, left of the blog OR the "Friends of Fanose" button to your right :o)

If you are ready to join our Friends of Fanose team, you can click here.

You know I cannot go two days without pictures of my sweet babies :o) Today we made some super yummy popsicles with FRESH FRUIT! They were super yummy and the girls LOVED them...
They are super healthy and EASY! You just fill about 1/3 to 1/2 of the popsicle holder with fresh fruit (we used strawberries and could use any fruit) and then fill with your choice of juice...freeze and enjoy :o)
Julianne has the LONGEST tongue :o) Haha!

Jonah took his first swing on the Rainbow today...
...and he LOVED it...SO SWEET! I HEART this baby!

Don't forget to check out the Friends of Fanose page!!! Help us make this dream a reality!

Day 148 - Babies are Back!

We had a busy day of running errands, checking out a few houses and doing a few fix-ups around the house just in case we decide to put it on the market.

Hillary Ashton and I left late this afternoon to pick up the little girls and drop her off so she can stay with her grandparents for a few days.

Jonah stayed home with Daddy and helped him with yard work :o)
No complaints from either of the boys...they both enjoy riding on the mower :o)

We took lots of road trips when I younger and I never had a set up like this :o) Haha! She is watching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and (of course) wearing her Grrrr shirt :o) I stopped shortly after we left to get her a drink and snack for the trip. She chose an orange soda because she said Chicken Little drinks orange soda to help him fly. I have never heard that story, but she was pretty sure she would be able to fly if she drank the orange soda...I LOVE that innocence.
My girl was beyond ecstatic that Papa was waiting for us beside a HUGE pile of gravel..
Nature's slide...
She was also pretty excited to see her little sisters too :o)
Is it just me or does Sophie Le look older :o) Haha!
Sweet sisters...back together...for a few minutes...

Now Hillary Ashton is staying with her grandparents for a few days and we already miss her! She has convinced her grandparents to buy her a duckling or a chick...they are such pushovers...haha! However, I want to set the record straight...we are not accepting any new animals at our house :o)

Day 147 - A Day of Goodbyes...

Well today was the day...the LAST day of kindergarten. I officially have a first grader...WOW, how in the world did that happen? Haha! Of course, I had to take a few pic of my (then) kindergartner before we left for school...she was more interested in searching for critters :o) Such a girly, girl!
Hillary Ashton was excited to wear her Grrr shirt to school :o) I am soooooo thankful we are D.O.N.E with plaid/khaki/navy uniform clothes!!! Seriously, REALLY, REALLY happy. I am not a fan of uniforms :o)
She told me several times not to cry today because that would "probably make" her cry :o) And not "to worry because" she "would always be my baby." She even pinkie promised, so I guess I'll believe her :o)
Last kindergarten drop off...
There she goes...
I realize the excessive number of pictures (and yes, I take WAY more pictures that I post on the blog!) I took in the carpool lane may put me in the crazy category, but I don't care :o)
She usually hugs someone on her way in each morning...haha! This is her principal...she LOVES her!

It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating her last day of preschool...these pictures were taken exactly one year ago today...May 28, 2009

And her last day of PK3...these pictures were taken May 27, 2008...
Showing off her new bikini
We got her the backpack she is wearing right before she started PK3 and she used it that whole year, her preschool year and all of kindergarten! I cannot believe how good it still looks...I guess it will be going to first grade in a few months too!Wow!
Last Day of PK3

Since I only had Jonah this morning, I was able to visit Hillary Ashton in her class for a little while during the party. CAN YOU BELIEVE MY LITTLE BABIES ARE STILL OUT OF TOWN?!?!? I miss those little girls!
Here is Hillary Ashton with Big Buddy. I heard A LOT about this little girl throughout the year :o) Hillary Ashton thinks she is pretty awesome!
With some of her buddies (btw, her shirt is different because they did water games earlier in the day)
Sweet girls!
More friends...Hillary Ashton looks really small!
Hillary Ashton also talked about this older girl quite a bit. Apparently, she liked to come to Hill's class and walk on her knees and pretend she was a kindergartner...haha!
Hillary Ashton isn't big on the boys (insert sigh of relief here!), but she does really like this one...
...and this one...
One last pic with Ms. Neff...
...and Ms. Coney...they were GREAT with Hillary Ashton this year! We were very blessed to have them!

Bye kindergarten! See you in about three years!

This is a very common sight in our house...
Where is baby Jonah? Oh, there he is! He loves getting lovin' from his little mama!
Hillary Ashton told me today that she doesn't want Jonah to be her foster brother anymore. I asked her why and she said, "I want him to be my real brother. Will you pleeeeeese 'dopt him, Mama?"
Is it possible for your heart to melt and break at the same time?

Guess what I had today...
Yum, yum, yummy!!! I accidentally bought the wrong marshmallows the other day so it took me a couple days to get to Whole Foods to exchange them for the actual gelatin free marshmallows. The cost of the marshmallows is ridiculous...$6 for a 10 oz. bag...but sooooooooooo worth it!

We caught the first lightening bugs of the summer tonight!!! I HEART lightening bugs and so does my girl!

Yea for SUMMER break AND a three day weekend!!!

Day 146 - Happy UnBirthday Hillary Ashton!!

Well it is that time of year. How did we get here so fast again? Tomorrow is Hillary Ashton's last day of kindergarten. It sure doesn't seem like it was been a whole year since we were celebrating her graduation from preschool! I know I have said it many, many times before...but time flies when you have little kids!
Here is Hillary Ashton on her first day of kindergarten, take one...
As you may remember, we switched schools after a week :o) So here is her first day of kindergarten, take two...

Here is my big girl on her last day of kindergarten (tomorrow is a half-day, play day)...She was just a little excited that today was her last official day of school :o)
Sweetest little kindergartner EVER!

Since her birthday is during the summer, we celebrated her unbirthday today at her school.

An unbirthday - is an event that can be celebrated on any day that is not the person's birthday. It is a neologism coined by Lewis Carroll in his Through the Looking-Glass, giving rise to "The Unbirthday Song" in the 1951 Disney animated feature film Alice in Wonderland.

Her teachers made it a very special celebration of Hillary Ashton! She was beaming the whole time...precious!
Getting her crown...
First her teacher read the most amazing poem to Hillary Ashton.
The poem was written from her heavenly father's point of view and it almost brought me to tears...
After a couple cute birthday songs, Hillary Ashton chose a classmate one at a time and they came to the front to tell her about the birthday card they made for her. It was so funny to hear the kids saying, "Pick me, Hillary Ashton! Pick me next!" If their card had words on it, they read it to her. It was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet! Of course, she chose her BFF, AC to come up first...
I know I just said it, but the cards were sooooo sweet!
After she called all of the girls, she started calling up the boys...haha! I hope she keeps her preference for girls for a LONG time :o)
Her teachers put all of her cards together with a picture she drew on top...I know she will love looking through this a lot!
Then a few of her girlfriends ran to the corner and got a banner they made just for Hillary Ashton. Her teacher said the girls did this ALL ON THEIR OWN and tried to do it discretely throughout the day so they could surprise Hillary Ashton. It is the fruits of the spirit :o) Seriously, how precious is that? Those girls have such sweet spirits!
Hillary Ashton was very surprised and loved it! The next part of the party was probably my favorite. The kids danced to a birthday song and they were WAY into it! I am soooo thankful I recorded it on my video camera! It was hilarious! If I can find a few extra minutes I will share it soon.
I asked Hillary Ashton if she wanted me to bring cupcakes or cookies to share with her class and she responded, "I want donuts. Please don't get Krispy Kreme donuts, I want Shipleys." Haha! She LOVED putting on a glove to hand out the donuts :o)
Picking out her birthday book from her teachers...
This child LOVED all of the attention today!
She requested I also bring purple balloons to give her friends so Daddy and I decided to surprise her and wear purple today too. She noticed right away :o) With Hillary Ashton, it is all about the little things :o)

Happy Unbirthday, Hillary Ashton!!
