Day 146 - Happy UnBirthday Hillary Ashton!!

Well it is that time of year. How did we get here so fast again? Tomorrow is Hillary Ashton's last day of kindergarten. It sure doesn't seem like it was been a whole year since we were celebrating her graduation from preschool! I know I have said it many, many times before...but time flies when you have little kids!
Here is Hillary Ashton on her first day of kindergarten, take one...
As you may remember, we switched schools after a week :o) So here is her first day of kindergarten, take two...

Here is my big girl on her last day of kindergarten (tomorrow is a half-day, play day)...She was just a little excited that today was her last official day of school :o)
Sweetest little kindergartner EVER!

Since her birthday is during the summer, we celebrated her unbirthday today at her school.

An unbirthday - is an event that can be celebrated on any day that is not the person's birthday. It is a neologism coined by Lewis Carroll in his Through the Looking-Glass, giving rise to "The Unbirthday Song" in the 1951 Disney animated feature film Alice in Wonderland.

Her teachers made it a very special celebration of Hillary Ashton! She was beaming the whole time...precious!
Getting her crown...
First her teacher read the most amazing poem to Hillary Ashton.
The poem was written from her heavenly father's point of view and it almost brought me to tears...
After a couple cute birthday songs, Hillary Ashton chose a classmate one at a time and they came to the front to tell her about the birthday card they made for her. It was so funny to hear the kids saying, "Pick me, Hillary Ashton! Pick me next!" If their card had words on it, they read it to her. It was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet! Of course, she chose her BFF, AC to come up first...
I know I just said it, but the cards were sooooo sweet!
After she called all of the girls, she started calling up the boys...haha! I hope she keeps her preference for girls for a LONG time :o)
Her teachers put all of her cards together with a picture she drew on top...I know she will love looking through this a lot!
Then a few of her girlfriends ran to the corner and got a banner they made just for Hillary Ashton. Her teacher said the girls did this ALL ON THEIR OWN and tried to do it discretely throughout the day so they could surprise Hillary Ashton. It is the fruits of the spirit :o) Seriously, how precious is that? Those girls have such sweet spirits!
Hillary Ashton was very surprised and loved it! The next part of the party was probably my favorite. The kids danced to a birthday song and they were WAY into it! I am soooo thankful I recorded it on my video camera! It was hilarious! If I can find a few extra minutes I will share it soon.
I asked Hillary Ashton if she wanted me to bring cupcakes or cookies to share with her class and she responded, "I want donuts. Please don't get Krispy Kreme donuts, I want Shipleys." Haha! She LOVED putting on a glove to hand out the donuts :o)
Picking out her birthday book from her teachers...
This child LOVED all of the attention today!
She requested I also bring purple balloons to give her friends so Daddy and I decided to surprise her and wear purple today too. She noticed right away :o) With Hillary Ashton, it is all about the little things :o)

Happy Unbirthday, Hillary Ashton!!
