Day 255 - Potty Training, Shoes, Swinging and A Stick Bug...

What a beautiful, beautiful day!

Today the kiddos and I went to Mother's Day Out. The plan was for me to work in Julianne's class on Mondays and in Sophie Le's class on Tuesdays. Sophie Le was in my class two days a week last year and did great, but I wasn't sure how Julianne would do in my class. They have very different personalities, but I was hopeful. Yesterday was Julianne's first official day in my class...it only lasted about an hour :o( Poor baby girl did NOT enjoy sharing her mommy with the other two year olds...at all. She whined and whined and whined. I had to put MY BABY in time out. I rarely put any of the kids in time out and I had to put MY BABY in time out after about 45 minutes. Oh my. Luckily there is another two year old room so I switched her and she had a wonderful day :o) And she had a good day today in her class too :o) Soooooo thankful for that :o) I do love that she is in the class next door and I can pop in and say "hi" throughout the day :o)

Julianne's potty training is still going great. I am so proud of her! I think I finally feel comfortable saying she is potty trained :o) She has been wearing big girl panties for a couple weeks and NO DIAPERS :o) Whoo hoo! She hasn't had any accidents away from our house :o)

What a beautiful day.

How sweet is this child?

She insists on carrying the bags for me :o) Today she told me that her back was hurting from carrying all of the bags and I said, "Hillary Ashton, you don't need to carry all of those bags. I can get them. It is really sweet of you to want to help, but if you can carry your backpack that will be very helpful to Mommy." This was her response...I am not making this up! She said, "Mommy, it's okay if my backs hurts for a little bit because it is more important to me to do the right thing. I think helping you carry these bags is the right thing for me to do. It makes me feel good. It helps you. And I know it makes Jesus happy too."

Sweetness. Pure sweetness. I am so blessed. And yes, those are stickers on her cheeks. I hope she never changes :o)

What a beautiful day.

A few weeks ago, I was at Wal-Mart looking for swimming rings on sale because you can usually buy them at the end of the summer for like a quarter. While I was on that aisle, I found a baby swing for $3.00!!! I had no idea what I was going to do with it, but I just couldn't pass it up. There was a blue swing and a pink swing. I picked the blue...shocking, I know :o) I think I am finally getting the hang of this whole boy thing...haha!

I finally found the perfect spot for the new swing!

Baby boy LOVES to swing and was beyond delighted this afternoon when I put him in his new swing :o) He laughed and giggled the WHOLE time. So sweet!

What beautiful day.

Speaking of joy...is there anything better to a child than getting a package in the mail? Haha! The girls go nuts over mail/packages! Today, Hillary Ashton's new shoes came in the mail. She would have enjoyed going to the store and getting new shoes, but getting them in the mail takes it to a whole new level :o)

The shoes were exciting and fun...until she found a walking stick bug :o) Haha! That child LOVES bugs!

She told him all about stick bugs...while she held his hand. Be still my heart.

What beautiful day.

For documentation purposes, Jonah had his first cracker this afternoon :o) He LOVED it. Then tonight I had dinner with a few fellow adoptive moms and Jonah went with me. During dinner, he had his second, third, forth, fifth and sixth cracker :o) Haha! My baby boy is growing up!

Thank you God for this beautiful day.

The metal Dora lunchbox is so cute. It's like it's vintage...if Dora can be vintage :)
