Day 264 - Craft Time with The Girls - Fabric Pumpkins...

As soon as I saw this cute little pumpkin on my friend's blog, I knew the girls and I had to make one (Thanks Sami!)!

We went to Hobby Lobby this afternoon and each girl picked out the fabric they wanted to use for their pumpkin. Well, that isn't necessarily true. I should have said, "the girls picked out the fabric they wanted to use from a selection of fabric I preselected." Haha! If we went with the girls' initial selections, we would have a pink, blue and yellow pumpkin :o)

This craft is super easy, super quick and super cute. Which makes it a winner in my book :o)

If you want to make one, here's how...

Find a few short, stubby sticks to use for the pumpkin stem...

Kinda like these :o)

Next gather a roll of toilet paper, corn husks (or twine or ribbon), fabric (about 20" x 21"), some type of paper (we used wrapping paper, but newspaper or tissue paper would work too) and the sticks you gathered.

Next stuff the paper into the opening of the roll.

Work your way around the roll...

The girls were pretty impressed with themselves after this step was completed :o)

Repeat with your fabric of choice...

Tie the corn husk around the stick...

Poke your stick in the middle of the roll...you're done!!

Unless you have more kiddos, then you aren't done...you are just getting started. Haha!
