Day 286 - Dang Thieves!

Yesterday morning, I took Julianne to the doctor for her two year check-up (a couple months late...ooops!). The stats: She is 7% for her weight, 35% for her height and 87% for her head circumference. I am not a professional, but I think a bit of that measurement may have been her hair...just sayin' Haha!

After the appointment, we stopped by Target to get the kids' Halloween costumes and a SUPER cool pair of purple Converse.

I fed the kids at the Target cafe for lunch so I was looking forward to getting home and putting them down for a nap until time to pick Hillary Ashton up from school. We pulled into our driveway a few minutes before noon. As I was getting the two little kids out of the car, Sophie Le hopped out of the car and ran through the garage and opened the door into the house. She yelled to me, "Mama, who left the back door open?"

Dang thieves!

It sucks...there is really no other way to put it :o) It it could have been worse. Luckily, they only stole things that have monetary value...all of our televisions and computers. Things that can be replaced...after we pay a $1000 deductible and have our premiums increased by 25% (according to our insurance agent)!! Do you know how many people in Africa could have access to clean drinking water for $1000? FIFTY! 50 people could have access to safe water for 20 years. What a waste. Dang thieves!

As anyone that has been burglarized can tell you (we aren't first time victims), it isn't about the is about your peace of mind. Dang thieves!

The thing that really bothers me is explaining (lying) to the girls about what happened. I told them that the televisions, computers and the back door got broken so we are getting new ones. "How," they ask. "I'm not sure," I tell them. Haha! Hillary Ashton is suspicious, but has a strong desire to believe everything Mama says. Dang thieves!

After school today, I took Hillary Ashton for her six year check-up. She had to get a surprise shot which she was NOT happy about. We got home and I inspected the house...with an ax. I still felt uneasy about being in the house so we played outside until Daddy got home. Dang thieves!

That's it for tonight...I am exhausted, although I am sure a good night's sleep in not in my future. Dang thieves!

Oh Amy! I just hate that. I'm glad you and your family are safe, even if it may not feel that way right now.

How awful! How violated you must feel! Thank goodness they didn't come while you were home and scare/harm you or the kids!

So sorry Amy, and yes, thank goodness you weren't there or walked in on them. You and your family are in my prayers.
