Day 290 - Songs and Friends...

The words in yesterday's post are from a song by Rascal Flatts called "My Wish." I LOVE finding songs that say the exact words I feel in such a pretty way :o) I like to download the songs on my ipod for the girls to listen to. Ever since Hillary Ashton was a baby, I have always told her that particular songs were my songs for her. Last year, she causally mentioned that she thinks I wrote the songs for her :o) Haha! I haven't gotten around to correcting her yet :o) Everytime "Lullaby" comes on, Sophie Le says, "Mama, it is my Vietnam song." Haha!

After school today, Hillary Ashton was acting sneaky while putting her homework in her backpack. I walked over to the backpack area and asked her what she was doing and she said, "Nothing, nothing!" Which I KNEW meant, "Something!" Haha! I looked her in the eyes and asked her if she was lying and she said, "Yes, but I don't want to tell you that I brought home a friend from school because I don't want to get in trouble." Well that definitely got my attention! I asked where her friend was and she said SHE was in the front pocket of her backpack. She was right...she had a friend in there all right!

Ewww! I remember bringing home a kitten from school in my backpack when I was in the fifth grade. Given our history with kittens, I guess I was relieved "her friend" was just a cricket. I didn't feel to need to share with her what I brought home from school when I was little...obviously, she doesn't need any ideas!
