New Park & New Attitudes...

I had a "situation" yesterday in carpool. I was sitting in carpool and the car behind me hit me...rammed my bumper. It was hard enough that the girls noticed and wouldn't stop talking about "our wreak." The crazy thing (in my opinion) is that the lady who hit me didn't say or do anything! She just kept talking on her phone (I could see her in my rear view mirror). Is it just me or is that weird? It didn't do any damage, I just thought a quick, "Oops, sorry about that" was in order. I would love to hear your opinions.

After school today, we stopped by Wal-Mart and then by a park close to our house. The girls & I were SO EXCITED and SO SURPRISED that the park got a complete renovation since we were there last (during the Fall). IT.WAS.AWESOME!!!! Like the best park in town...a couple miles from our house!! Whoo hoo!

While we were at Wal-Mart, Hillary Ashton decided to spend some of her "spend money" on a Rapunzel doll (from the movie Tangled...which we LOVED...sooooo cute). She was combing her hair and Julianne said, "I comb hair, please." And then she ran and got a barbie and brush and joined big sister at the bar. Julianne LOVES hair. Like, really LOVES hair. She is in my class for MDO and I often find her stroking her friend's hair and she loves to "braid" my hair. I would not be surprised at all if she ends up as a beautician!

I am reluctant to actually say this, but the girls attitudes have dramatically improved since they started "taming their tongues." They have been sweeter to one another and haven't been tattling as much (I HATE tattling!). I decided to reward them tonight for their good behavior. They had brownie, carmel ice cream...

...and they got to visit The Sweet Girl Shop (which they haven't gotten to do in a LONG time!).
Hillary Ashton chose a Webkinz (she name Kissy Wissy)...

Sophie Le chose a Mickey Mouse pen...

Julianne chose a Buzz Lightyear pen...

{Someone sent me a message and asked about my camera...most of the pictures posted since Christmas were taken with my new Canon PowerShot SD4500-IS(I got as a gift...thank you!) and my normal "fancy" camera is a Sony Alpha 100 DSLR).}

An apology is completely in order from the lovely lady who "bumped" you. The couple times I've done that (yeah, I said a couple), it was poor weather (ice), but I ALWAYS got out and checked on the people/cars and apologized...and I never did any damage. Its just the polite thing to do.

Yeah, she should have gotten off the phone, gotten out of the car and apologized. People!

Look at LeLe's precious little curls. You really want to get me started on J's hair?? When's her mama gonna braid it?? ;-) (It does look really cute in those piggies today.)

I'm glad to hear the park is as great as it looked in the drawings. I've been wanting to get out there since I saw the early sketches, but stuff keeps coming up.

And yes, definitely, an apology is in order.

I can't believe that she didn't apologize, that's just crazy! Good for you for keeping your cool, I might have caused a little scene in the carpool line, ha ha ha!

I Love Love Love Julianne's piggies, so adorable! :o) She is obviously talking a lot more too!

You have to love really rude people. I guess she was way into her phone conversation to walk over and apologize, which she should have done. I am totally going to have to try the tongue thing with the boys!

I would have gotten out of my car and knocked on her window until she acknowledged what she'd done! Yes, she absolutely should have apologized AND as Jess said, she should have gotten out to check that she didn't do any damage. Geesh!

Different kids... different tactics. I tried your "holding the tongue" thing. Loston was hateful to me, so I said, "Loston, you need to stick out your tongue and hold it for speaking so rudely." He said, "NO!" and ran into the other room... Oh, well, back to the toy-time-out!

LOVE your new park!!! I'm jealous! We have a couple of neat parks near us...C's favorite doesn't have a bathroom though! Sorry, but I think a park should have a bathroom! There are little people there for goodness sakes!

Lady in the car, you should've gotten out & checked for damage. Looks like the majority feels this way. Very strange indeed!

Yes, I think something should have been said. I personally would have jumped out and apologized over and over and checked to make sure that wasn't any damage. that is the right thing to do.

Wow, I can't believe she didn't get out of the car. People are crazy these days.

Enjoy the SD4500. Have you tried the video yet. 1080P is awesome with that little thing. And the HS system rocks. It's a snazzy little camera!!!
