Foster Care, Tooth Fairy & Snowbank...

Two years ago today, we {hillary ashton, sophie le, hubby & I} were playing at a park by our house. The phone rang and the lady on the other end of the line asked us if we would be willing to take a fourteen month old baby boy into our home. We immediately said, "Yes," and we hopped on the foster care roller coaster. It has been a crazy ride, full of the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.

Here are the girls with that precious little baby we refer to as "Little Man..."
This picture was taken within minutes of getting to the house with him {my very first boy!}. He was taken from his home because his tested positive for drugs. Still breaks my heart.

I almost cannot take the fact that Sophie Le is now the age Hillary Ashton was in the picture above and Julianne {who we were in process to adopt at the time} is the age Sophie Le was in the picture. Aggg...why do babies have to grow up so fast?

My thoughts often go to little man...I still miss him like crazy. I still worry about him. I still pray for him. I still wish I could peak-a-boo with him and see him get sooooo tickled :o)

We had a great "hang out" day...that is what Sophie Le calls Fridays :o) LOVE it!
This morning, we had our annual foster care file renewal visit...I am sure there is a more official name for the visit, but I don't know what it is :o)
I still have several requirements I need to take care of...cpr renewal, a few more ce hours, doctor visits {with tb test}, gathering some documentation and a couple more forms to fill out.
I feel like I have been doing paperwork for years...with two international adoptions and foster care, I guess I have :o)
I used to kinda like gathering the, not so much.

I have more pressing issues to deal with these days...such as, right now, I have a child...this one...
...asleep in her bed. Under her pillow is a few small, white rocks and taped to the door is a note to the tooth fairy.
There is A LOT more to the story, but I will save that for another day :o) I am just trying to figure out what I should do about the note...and the rocks.
And there is also the "issue" with "Snowbank" we dealing with. Snowbank was lost at a local store earlier this week. Daddy told her that the people at the store saw Snowbank running around the store {on the surveillance camera.} However, they couldn't catch him because he is so little and FAST. They set a trap and caught him on Wednesday...the trap happened to be a big envelope. We are hoping the envelope arrives soon :o)
Kids are SO much fun!

Since she left fake teeth, the Tooth Fairy should leave fake money!

I love the fake money idea!

Have there been any developments with Jonah? Is the paperwork/testing for fostering or for adoption? We just finished our side of things this week and are waiting (not so patiently) for our home study to be written up. So much for the promise of "early February". Still...I'm just SO THANKFUL I'm not caught up in the mess over Ethiopian adoption right now. WOW!
