Day 78 - Leprechauns, Cupcakes, Soccer & Shots...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Sunshine has been looking forward to this day for months and months :o) Why? Because at the beginning of the school year, her teacher told her about how they were going to set traps in the Spring and try to catch a leprechaun. She has referenced this conversations more times than I can remember. Ha! She was beyond excited when she left for school today. She made a trap and decorated it with "lots of shiny things" to try and lure the leprechaun. While they were at recess today, the leprechaun came and "trashed their room." Backpacks were stron about, footprints and hand prints were all over everything & Sunshine's sweater was at someone else's desk. The leprechaun left each child a real gold dollar, chocolate coins, a bag of surprises in the office and a letter {probably their favorite part!}. She just LOVED getting to go to the office to get her class's bag of goodies and talking to the principal about how he had been chasing that leprechaun all over the school today!

My girl eats stuff like this up! Ha! I LOVE {LOVE, LOVE, LOVE} it! As you can imagine, she was FULL of stories when she hopped in the car this afternoon :o)

The little kids and I had our last MDO for awhile today...SPRING BREAK NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!!!!! My friend, Keli made St. Patrick cupcakes for the workers today. She was soooo sweet to make me a completely vegan cupcake!!

This is the first cupcake I have had in over TWENTY YEARS and let me tell you, IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

Tonight, Sunshine had her first Upward Soccer practice. She is excited that she is on a team full of GIRLS :o) A stark contrast to being the only girl in the entire league of baseball last fall :o)

The teams is made up of 1st and 2nd grade girls. Before practice, she made friends with this 2nd grade girl. I just LOVE that my baby looks little :o) I rarely get to see her as the younger kid.
I LOVE the concept behind Upward sports. Their motto is "winning is about so much more than the final score." Half way through practice, the team takes a break and does a devotional.
If you look closely, you can see ONE green rubber band in her hair...just to make sure no one at practice tried to pinch her :o)
The girls did pretty good during practice...
Their little brother on the other hand...let's just say, he explored the entire field and several surrounding fields :o) He is an explorer!

Getting her uniform...
She was all kinds of excited about that box!

I am taking all three of the little kids to the doctor in the morning for SHOTS. I am thinking it probably isn't going to be a pleasant experience for anyone. Wish us luck!
