Day 114 - Easter 2011

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again

This afternoon, Little Pumpkin brought a tattoo (from her loot yesterday) to her Daddy and asked what the tattoo said. He read the tattoo and said, "He is Risen." The next words that came out of my baby's mouth were words of truth, words that I was so surprised to hear coming from my four year old, a phrase that sums up this day, our life, our hope, our eternity.

She said, "He is risen, indeed." I guess someone was listening in church this morning :o) Sweet Baby.

Of course, I had to grab my phone :o) {I cannot flip my videos...sorry!}

Tonight at supper, Hillary Ashton decided to tell the Easter story. I was so happy that she knew lots of details and the true reason we celebrate this day. It is truly amazing how simple the story of our salvation is...even a six year old can understand. If only it was that easy for millions of adults.

This morning, the girls woke up expecting to find a basket full of Easter goodies from the Easter bunny...instead they found this...
An Easter Basket scavenger hunt!!! Yay! I found the idea here.}

Each clue led them to the next clue and hopefully closer to their Easter goodies...

It was precious listening to Sunshine read the clues and then watch the girls run to their next clue. We were so happy cousin Ashley & Aunt Missy were here to share in the fun {Cousin Matt & Baby Boy were still sleeping}!!

Eventually the clues led the kids outside where the Easter bunny left their giant Easter eggs :o) They LOVED it!

A HUGE thank you to Daddy for illustrating the clues!!!
Aren't they cute?

The girls LOVED everything. They kept saying, "How did the Easter bunny know I wanted this? How did he know I like these?" Haha! The Easter bunny is almost as smart as Santa Claus :o)

Tangled! Thanks Easter Bunny, we do LOVE that movie :o)

We decided to head to church early and have breakfast there...donuts! Table full of cute girls :o)

We spent the rest of the day chillaxin at the house :o) A perfect day!

After playing outside for awhile, we came in and talked about the resurrection eggs...LOVE them. We pretty much let the girls tell the story themselves :o) LOVE hearing my precious babies talk about our Savior!
Little Pumpkin showing us how Jesus' feet were positioned when they nailed them to the cross.
If you haven't done the eggs before, each egg has a symbol of the resurrection.
The last egg is empty to signify the empty tomb. Sweet Pea was SO EXCITED to get this egg :o)

Happy Easter!
