Day 126 - Firewood, Pacifer & Questions...

{Thanks for all of the anniversary well wishes!}

The tree guys worked for a couple hours getting the wood ready for the bulldozer. I can hardly wait for things to get back to "normal" around here! In the meantime, anyone need firewood? We have LOTS and LOTS and LOTS...haha!

From the moment Baby Boy was born until he was about six months old, he LOVED his pacifier. He sucked on that thing all of the time. I didn't realize what a blessing it was until the day he decided he wanted NOTHING to do with the pacifier. Boy, oh boy do I miss that thing! Haha! I have tried several times over the last year to get him to take a pacifier, but he wasn't having it. As I have mentioned before, Baby Boy does not like to ride in the car or sit through soccer games/practices and I really think if he had something to suck on, he would be more pleasant :o) So, I deemed today, "Operation Pacifier." Yes, I know most parents are weaning their kids off of pacifiers at this point, but I don't care! I NEED that sweet baby to use a pacifier...haha! He wasn't thrilled with the idea this morning, but I persisted and by noon he agreed to have it in his mouth, but refused to suck. This continued throughout the afternoon. I'll take what I can get! I am also hoping that having him use a pacifier will cut down on the ridiculous amount of "stuff" he puts in his mouth (he LOVES to eat crayons, mud, sticks, etc...).

Sweet boy!

At school this week, Sunshine made a few gifts for me for Mother's Day. She is a bit like her mama in that she couldn't wait for me to open them :o) Haha!
This little book cracked me up. The teacher asked each kid in the class eleven questions. The answers for all of the kids are listed by their class number, not name. I just have to share a few of the answers with you!

A few of the questions...

Why are mothers made?
Sunshine: "Mothers are made to make more mothers."

What kind of little girl was your mom?
Sunshine: "My mother was a servant girl."
Haha! I asked her about this one and she said that I told her how my mom and dad made me do lots of chores around the house when I was little :o)

What did Mom need to know about dad before she married him? I LOVE this one!
Sunshine: "She needed to know if he was dorky enough."

Why did your mom marry your dad?
Sunshine: "My mom married my dad because she liked that he was dorky."

Apparently the theme continued :o)

What's the difference between moms and dads?
Sunshine: "Dads are really dorky."

I PROMISE I don't know where she got all of the dorky stuff from! Haha! Sorry hubby :o) We will try to straighten things out before she gives any Father's Day answers!

I will share some of the other kids' answers this weekend...there are some good ones :o)

I'm sure Daddy is really happy that his big girl has such confidence in his dorkiness! LOL!

Happy Mother's Day!

Your son sounds a lot like my youngest. Try getting him a vibration toothbrush. My son will be 'flipping', and I give that to him, and it is almost like he is in a zone...but it definately mellows him out!

I meant "vibrating toothbrush". Also, I keep lemonheads on hand, and sometimes when he needs that input, I give him one...I know that sounds crazy, but his occupational therapist gave me a list of foods to try that give them the input they need. I am always surprised what 1 lemonhead can do! haha

I love your daughter's answers..So cute!
