I am not sure about your kids, but my kids need frequent reminders to be sweet to one other. We have had a lot of success with The Sweet Girl Shop, but I always have my eyes open for new ideas. When I saw "Good Deed" cards on eighteen 25, I knew we had to give them a try.
The cards gave me a good excuse to reacquaint with an old love...my laminater!! Ohhhh, LOVE it!
Each child gets a "Good Deed" card. When you "catch" the child performing a good deed, they get a punch on their card. When they get caught doing 13 good deeds they get a treat or reward. I love the kids have something to work toward, but they also get instant gratification by getting their card punched. Sound like something that might work with your kids? If so, you can print them out here.
One child that never gets "picked" on is Baby Boy...all of the girls adore him. He does no wrong in their eyes :o) If he goes up to one of them and takes a toy, they smile and say something like, "Oh J, you want my toy? You are so sweet. I love you, J!" It is a bit ridiculous :o) I will admit, he is a pretty good boy :o) In fact, he tells me that several times a day :o) Haha! There are, however, the rare moments when he does need some correction...like this morning...
I cannot remember what he did, but I can tell you he didn't stay in time-out very long...I cannot resist those big, brown eyes! I am afraid he is going to be rotten before long!
Sunshine starts school next week...I sure am going to miss playing outside with the girls each morning!
The girls were having a hard time staying out of each other's business so I gave them a job...nature scavenger hunt!
I found the scavenger hunt here.
The girls decided to throw Daddy a homecoming party this evening :o)
They decorated with balloons and we made sopapilla cheesecake! While I was mixing up the ingredients, I gave each of the girls some dough to play with.
Sunshine made a big ball and then a couple animals, Sweet Pea got it all over her forehead and hands and Little Pumpkin made lots of small balls...and lined them up...surprise, surprise :o) Ha!
It was our first time to make Sopapilla Cheesecake...
It was a hit! You can find the recipe here.
We are so thankful to have Daddy home with us tonight! AND he even brought home stuffed crust pizza...yummmmmmmmmmmy! Between the pizza and sopapilla cheesecake, I am stuffed!
Hope everyone has a happy weekend!
