Teacher Gift & Meet the Teacher...Day 226

This morning while the kids were playing outside, I called Sunshine over so I could take a picture of her playing on her last day of summer vacation and this is what I got...
Yep, that's how I feel about the last day of summer too!

We sure are going to miss her everyday from 8 to 3!!!

I posted a sneak peak of the gift Sunshine and I were working on for her teacher last night...
Here is the final product...

There are LOTs of variations to this gift...I originally found a list of possible items HERE. I did a bit more searching and found THIS finished product...I love the colors and style so I used it for inspiration :o) I found a cute "1st Day of school survival kit" sign HERE and used it on the side of the box.
As far as the contents, you can go as crazy as you want...the possibilities are {almost} endless! There are some more examples HERE. We decided to go with the crayons {To color your world bright and beautiful}, penny {to remind you, each will shine in their own special way}, burst (starburst) {to give you a burst of energy when you need it}, tissue {to wipe away the tears...yours and theirs}, peanuts {so you can go a little nutty}, erasers {to remind you everyone makes mistakes} and clips {to help you hold it all together}.

I was at a bit of a loss on what type of package to put the items in since the tags I made were on the large side...
and then I remembered these boxes I made around Christmas time...
...and I remembered I bought several packages of the boxes 75% off after Christmas! Whoo hoo!
You can click HERE to see how to make the hole in the top of the box :o)
The box was the perfect size for all of the goodies!

Btw, I cut out the tags and letters using my AWESOME, AMAZING, OUTSTANDING new cricut...thanks hubby :o) I printed out the descriptions using my super handy labeler.

Today was Sunshine's meet your teacher and drop off your supplies day. Could she be anymore excited? Ha!
She is SO happy about going back to this school...seriously, she could not stop smiling! Sweetness!
We're almost there!
The first thing she did was give her teacher the gift she made...I could tell in the first minute that her new teacher has a very similar personality to Sunshine! It was like they were talking the same, super excited language :o) They are going to have a great year :o)
Next up, time to pack her desk...
I've mentioned it before, but Sunshine is SO excited that her new school teaches bible! Here she is putting her new bible up :o)
My happy little second grader!

Of course, we couldn't leave without visiting her kindergarten teachers!

Second we come!
