Halloween Fun...

What a fun time of the year.  A fun, BUSY time of the year!

Yesterday, Sweet Pea's preschool class had a Halloween party.  Sweet Pea and her friends looked so sweet dressed up in their costumes :o)

photo

This pretty much sums up how Sweet Pea feels about preschool, her class and her friends. She is so happy to go and as soon as we leave, she says she can't wait to go back. I LOVE it! photo2

She feels the same way about her dance class. She looks forward to Mondays all week because she gets to go to preschool AND dance :o)

This week is Red Ribbon week at the big girls' school. Yesterday was team apparel day... photo7

Little Pumpkin was so excited to win the "best spirit" award for her class!

Today was pajama day or as Sunshine likes to call it, "the best school day of the year." That girl is all about comfort!

photo11

I don't think I've blogged about it before, but the big girls are taking swim this year. We started the year with them going at the same time, same day, twice a week. Doable. However, this month Sunshine moved up to a new swim level and her classes are on the other two days of the week. Yep, FOUR nights a week at the pool for us this month. Not cool! She had class last night, but she doesn't know it was her last class until January. I just cannot imagine spending four nights a week at the pool during the holiday season. It's just too much! photo6

I still plan to take them to the pool since we have a membership so they can practice, but I don't want to be tied down to being there so much!

Sweet hubby took off work today since he has been working out of town so much lately and we went shopping for a surprise Halloween party for the kids while they were at school/MDO! photo3

They were SO excited when they got home from school! I LOVE surprising them!! photo4

I just had to share this picture, even though it is blurry... photo5

Sweet baby boy does NOT like "scary" Halloween stuff...at all! He gets nervous in the store when we get close to the Halloween section. He quickly points out "scary" stuff and says, "I don't like that. It's fake. I don't like fake. Fake scares me." I didn't think about it and we put out all kinds of candy on the table for the kids to eat while they did their Halloween crafts. Some of the candy was body parts. Ewwwww! When Baby Boy saw it, he freaked. It was SO SWEET to see how quickly his sisters rushed to comfort him. Sweet baby. Sweet sisters.

He recovered quickly and wanted me to take a picture of his craft :o) LOVE that boy!

Hornet Spirit...

We moved over the summer to a smaller town just south of Little Rock. We really wanted a good, public school for the girls. We are so thankful they are having an awesome year and we LOVE their new school!  Another benefit we have found living in a small town is the "hometown spirit" that is pretty much non-existent in a town the size of Little Rock with so many different high schools.

The girls (and boy) have definitely caught the "hornet spirit!" We have enjoyed going to several football games this season!!  Our favorite game was the game the girls got to cheer with the pee wee cheer team :o)

Sunshine has done pee wee cheer several times in the past at her old school, but this was Little Pumpkin's first time.  They LOVED going to practice together!!

peeweecheer

I was amazed at how well the high school cheerleaders did the little girls!! There was probably at least 100 little girls cheering that night! Can you spot my girls? IMG_5607

They did three cheers and a dance! IMG_5612

It was a hot, hot, fun night.

How cute are the Hornet;s sneakers?

It seems like just yesterday my sweet Little Pumpkin would have freaked being that close to a huge bug :o) She is growing up!!

Halloween Fun...

We skipped on baths last night so the kids had to take them this morning before church. Since Sunday mornings have time constraints, I decided to try a new {less time demanding} option for Sweet Pea's hair. Her hair is definitely {larger} than usual, but I think it looks so cute!

IMG_0116

Although, I think she could probably rock any hair do :o) I snapped this picture after lunch... IMG_0115

I LOVE how they are all holding hands/arms with each other. I pray they are always close!! This afternoon, we went to a Fall carnival at church. The kids were super pumped to get to wear their new Halloween costumes!

  IMG_5797

The big girls decided to wear backup costumes to the carnival since they would be able to play easier in the backup costumes than their "real costumes" :o) IMG_5801

I feel like my big girl is growing up quickly these days. She is eight years old. Tough on a this mama! IMG_5802

She was super excited about the magic show and she was THRILLED to get picked to help out with a trick!

photo

She LOVES magic. Remember her first grade talent show? It seems like just yesterday, I videoed her practicing for her show :o)

Did I mention they are growing up too fast already?

It amazes me how something as simple as a flower or rainbow on their face can be so exciting! LOVE it!

Btw, if you happen to see Sweet Pea during this Halloween season, she is a cupcake. Not a double scoop of ice cream. Cupcake. Thanks. Ha!

Me and my sweet little rocket... IMG_5820

These are the days! I wish they could stay little forever! IMG_5824

The girls squabble and bicker with each other, but when it comes to Baby Boy, they all think he hung the moon!

Hula Hoop queen!

IMG_5832

If you have been reading this blog for awhile, you probably know Sunshine ALWAYS wins the cakewalk. ALWAYS. Since she was two. EVERY.SINGLE.YEAR. She will quickly tell you "cake walks are her thing." Ha!
IMG_5838

I have to admit, I get a little nervous each year that her streak may end. It is really important to her. The first winner was little sister Sweet Pea...

IMG_5841

Luckily even little prayers get answered because Sunshine won next :o) Whew! We are good for another year :o)

IMG_5844

A fun time had by all!

Family Day at the Farm...

Today we attended our adoption agency's annual "family day at the farm." We look forward to this event all year! Our adoption agency is AMAZING and we love the opportunity to catch up with our awesome caseworker and other adoptive families while having fun at the farm!

IMG_5691

Little Pumpkin is always Baby Boy's partner on rides :o) It is so nice to have a responsible kid! IMG_5698

If you could only hear the giggling coming from these two as they flew down the hill!  Sweetness!

IMG_5688

Baby Boy loves the farm animals! I am hoping we are on the home stretch with his potty training!  He potty trained VERY quickly about eight weeks ago. We went about six weeks with one or two accidents.  Then a week and a half ago, he started having an accident a day. UGG! We are now entering day 4 of no accidents again.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Little Pumpkin is SIX!! The Birthday Fun Continues...

My sweet little pumpkin turned SIX today!

photo12

My other kiddos request donuts for their breakfast, not my little pumpkin! Fruit bowl with a candle, please :o)

photo16

I have never had to send any of my babies to school on their birthday, until today! I would have LOVED to keep her home with me, but I knew she'd have a great time at school with her friends today. Ganny and PaPa Texarkana came to town for her birthday today and Ganny went with me to eat lunch with her at school. When we met her for lunch, she was beyond wound up! Ha! Daddy met us there too! She LOVED all the attention! photo15

I think that child could eat her weight in fruits and veggies! photo14

After school, we had birthday cake and she opened more presents! photo11

{The girls were made the cake yesterday after school :o) I think they did a great job!!}

I am not sure she will ever take off her new cowgirl boots! photo13

For her birthday supper she requested Chinese takeout :o) You can take the girl out of Asia, but you can't take the Asian out of the girl :o) I LOVE it!!!
picstitch

After supper we came back home for more presents and game night :o)

I wasn't with her when she was born this day six years ago and I will never take for granted the incredible blessing it is that I get to spend her birthdays with her now!

Happy Birthday to my Vietnamses princess!!!!! My dream come true.
