I shared with you yesterday the AWESOME news that the Friends of Fanose well is complete and now provides 250 people access to CLEAN, SAFE drinking water. And if that wasn't exciting enough, we were also informed that since the Friends of Fanose well only cost $4400 to build, the extra funds were pooled together with a few other campaigns and ANOTHER well was built!!!
Like the Friends of Fanose well, the "bonus well" is located in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. It is a shallow borehole well. It cost $8,359.45 to complete. The Friends of Fanose well fund contributed $670 to this project! THANK YOU!!!
The well provides CLEAN, SAFE drinking water to 150 people in the Adikulkal Village!!!!
How cute are those sweet little kids pumping CLEAN, FRESH water? Look at that precious little buy looking over the wall! LOVE!!!!!!!
The village is serious about keeping their project safe, clean and functioning for years to come. They built a fence and a door on their own initiative, to prevent animals from contaminating the area and to show ownership of their new water source.
The verse, "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work withing us, to Him be the glory...," from Ephesians, chapter 3 keeps coming to mind!
We knew there was a need for clean water, but we didn't have the money to build a well and I am not a fundraiser...completely out of my comfort zone. However, with prayer and petition, we started a campaign to build a well. Over $5000 was raised and over 400 people now have access to CLEAN water. Not only one village was touched by Friends of Fanose, but TWO! Immeasurably more!!!!
To God be the Glory!
My heart is soooooo happy! Thank you to each one of you that made this dream a reality!!!!!
