DIY Wall Canvas...

I don't know about you, but I LOVE photo canvases! I can't get enough of them!

I not only love the look of the photo without a frame, but I also love how easy they are to hang. There is no hassle with finding matching/coordinating frames or even nails (they are so light you can hang them with a simple tack!).

I have ordered several canvases online for myself and for gifts, but they can be a bit pricey.  I really wanted to do a canvas collage for the wall with a group picture of all of the kids plus an individual shot of each kid, but I didn't want to spend the $$$ to order 5 canvases so I decided to try a DIY project :o)

I LOVE how it turned out!!!

The process was simple and pretty quick!

I started by painting the sides of the canvas and the edge of the front of the canvas black.

After the paint dried, I applied a layer of Modge Podge to the front of the canvas and carefully
placed the photo on the canvas.

Let the canvas dry completely and then apply a layer of Modge Podge to the top of your picture. If you don't wait until it is dry, your picture will wrinkle. No bueno!IMG_5282

After the top layer of Modge Podge is dry, you can use a fingernail file to help "blend" the edge of the picture to the canvas.  That part is optional :o)

Simple, huh?

Of course, Jonah fell a couple days before and had quite a boo boo on his forehead...thank goodness for Photoshop :o) Ha!

I can't wait to do more!!
