Home of Wal-Mart...

Finishing up our fun trip to the Northwest...Northwest Arkansas that is :o) You can see the first part here.

Bentonville is the home of Wal-Mart so we couldn't leave town with visiting the original Wal-Mart!

The original store, Walton's 5-10, is now a visitor's center...a shrine to Wal-Mart and Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart. Of course the bathroom is usually the first stop at any place we visit :o)

How cute are the old ads as wallpaper?

Sam Walton's office was located at the Wal-Mart headquarters down the road, but after his death his office was photographed and everything was carefully moved to the visitor's center. It was SO COOL to see everything just as he left it! Including a rifle in the corner!

As you know, Sam Walton was one of the richest people on the planet. And he drove an old pick-up truck :o) When people asked him why he drove an old pick up truck, he said, "Am I suppose to put my dogs in the back of a Rolls Royce?" Haha!

He carried a rifle in the seat of the truck too!

I just love how "normal" he seemed to live his life! We can't wait to go back!
